Sumusunod sa utos! Palace defends Duterte’s choice of ex-military men in Cabinet

By Prince Golez

Malacañang defended on Sunday President Rodrigo Duterte’s preference in choosing former military officials in his Cabinet.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said soldiers don’t question things, they “get things done.”

He cited as an example Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and Peace Process Secretary and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., who were both former military generals.

Other retired military men in the Cabinet are Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña, and Bases and Conversion Development Authority chief Glorioso Miranda among others.
