The House of Representatives has limited to 20 the number of congressmen who can physically attend the session in the plenary.
In a Memorandum signed by House Secretary General Mark Llandro Mendoza said congressmen who wish to physically attend the session should submit their names to the Office of the Secretary General at least a day in advance.
“The final list of House members shall be posted at the entrance of the Plenary Hall prior to the start of the session,” the memorandum read.
The House is set to adjourn its session on Wednesday, March 24, for the Holy Week break. It will resume on May 17.
Only 20 House employees performing secretariat/technical support will be allowed inside the plenary hall.
The House leadership has also adopted a modified work arrangement and allow its employees to leave at 6 p.m.
No visitors/guests shall be allowed to enter the Batasan Complex while delivery of food, water, parcel and other items shall be claimed at the designated reception areas near the building entrances.
“We wish to inform you that preparation for the vaccination program are underway. We urge everyone to get vaccinated. With the critical need to achieve herd immunity, having oneself inoculated is not just for out personal gain. It is for our families, and for the entire nation as well. It is a social responsibility that we should take,” Mendoza’s memorandum read.
Meanwhile, Speaker Lord Allan Jay Velasco urged the public to follow the advice of health authorities to stay at home amid the upsurge of COVID-19 cases.
“This way, we are not only helping curb the spread of the virus but more importantly we are saving lives,” Velasco said. “Let us do our part by not leaving our homes unless it is for essentials or emergencies.”
