Duterte doesn’t need RevGov: Palace

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte would not support the call for a revolutionary government, his spokesman Harry Roque said, adding that the general election set on May 2022 would push through.

Roque made the statement after the People’s National Coalition for Revolutionary Government Towards Federalism called for the country’s shift to federalism through a revolutionary government.

“The President is de jure constitutional government at hindi niya kinakailangan ng revolutionary government,” Roque said in a televised briefing Tuesday.

“Elections will be held as scheduled in 2022, there will be a new president come June 30, 2022,” he added.

Duterte’s six-year term will end on June 30, 2022.

But, some leaders of the ruling party PDP-Laban are pushing him to run for vice president in next year’s polls.
