State-run PTV has launched an investigation on a tweet posted Tuesday (March 16) that used the hashtag, #Dutertepalpak.
The original tweet posted on 7:24 p.m. read: “President Rodrigo R. #dutertepalpak BTS reiterated his order to provide free masks for the public especially those who cannot buy their own.”
In a statement posted on Twitter, PTV said the hashtag was not in the original caption.
“PTV is currently investigating the intent behind this malicious post. Our apologies,” the network said.
The original tweet has been taken down.
The original story and caption reads:
