The government should not be blamed for the recent rise in the country’s Covid-19 cases, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said.
Panelo said in his commentary show “Counterpoint” that safety against Covid-19 depends on oneself.
“Tayo mismo ang may hawak ng ating kaligtasan, walang iba. Kaya huwag niyong sisiin ang gobyerno kasi ang gobyerno can only do so much. Eh ayaw naman natin na ang gobyerno eh maging masyadong istrikto,” the abogado said.
The Philippines’ Covid-19 caseload has been on an upward trend in the past week.
7,999 new infections were recorded on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases to 80,642.
