Given new restrictions, MalacaƱang hopes to reduce daily new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases by at least 25 percent.
On Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said daily Covid-19 cases in the country are expected to drop by 25 percent or more through the two-week travel bubble in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal.
Under this bubble, non-essential trips in and out of the above-mentioned areas are prohibited. All mass gatherings, including religious events, and indoor dining at restaurants are also not allowed until April 4.
“Ang target natin minimum 25 percent reduction but we are hoping for more,” Roque said in a virtual presser.
“Kaya dinadaan na rin natin sa pakiusap bagamat hindi po kayo pinagbabawalaan na lumabas sa inyong tahanan sa loob ng ‘NCR Plus’ bubble sana po kung hindi naman kinakailanagan lumabas ay manatili na lang sa ating mga tahaanan,” he added.
As of March 21, the Philippines reported 7,757 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country’s total active cases to 73,072.
