Are you willing to get P 145,000 as an incentive to go from four wheels to two? Well, if France’s lawmakers have their way, it might happen.
France is mulling the idea of paying owners of old cars around 2,500 Euros or around P 145,000 to swap their old car for an electric bicycle.
This comes as lawmakers in their National Assembly moved to amend their draft climate bill that aims to reduce greenhouse emissions by 40 percent in 2030 from 1990 levels.
In the original version of the bill, no cycling measures were put in place.
If adopted, France will become the first country in the world to offer people the chance to trade in an aging vehicle for an electric or folding bicycle.
