A man whose mother got COVID-19 has expressed gratitude to Vice President Leni Robredo for launching a free electronic consultation project amid the pandemic.
Robredo shared in a Facebook post Friday (April 30) the message that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) received from the patient.
“This morning, the son of one of our emergency patients messaged us to say thank you. ‘Kung di po dahil sa inyo, baka wala na po si nanay,’ sabi niya. Magvo-volunteer rin daw siya for our initiatives once his mother has recovered, as a way of paying it forward,” Robredo shared.
The Vice President launched the Bayanihan E-Konsulta project to help Filipinos manage their health concerns. The platform in particular aims to help those with COVID-19 symptoms by having them consult with a doctor over the phone.
Volunteers also help those with moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms find a hospital.
As of April 28, Robredo said the Bayanihan E-Konsulta platform received 26,567 requests. However, only 7,342 requests were completed as there are those who didn’t proceed with the process, encountered glitches or did not submit the information needed.
Robredo said the OVP is working to improve the interface of the e-consultation platform.
