Mag-ambag naman! IBP calls on Pinoys to be part of nation-building

Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) President Domingo Egon Cayosa on Saturday (June 12) urged Filipinos to be a part of nation-building.

“As we celebrate Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to contribute our fair share to the continuing process of nation-building.,” Cayosa said in a statement.

With this, the lawyer asked Filipinos to reflect on the following points:

1) Are we proud, confident, and positive about our country, our government, ourselves as Filipinos?

2) Can we put greater national interests and the common good above our personal or partisan agenda?

3) Do we have the discipline, integrity, ethics, love of country, and passion to be a sovereign Filipino people?

4) Have the shackles of poverty, corruption, criminality, abuse, and injustice replaced the shackles of colonialism?

5) Do we respect laws and the rule of law as the standard of our authority or obedience and national unity?

Cayosa issued the statement as the country commemorates Independence Day.

“Filipino lawyers join our nation in commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence,” he said.

“We remember with gratitude and we honor all those who fought, worked, and served to free our country from its colonial masters,” he added.
