BAYAN Secretary General Renato Reyes slammed the government for being “defensive.”
Reyes believed the administration is trying to shield community pantries from political talk to cover up for its failure.
He said this is not possible considering the reason why community pantries were put up.
“We’re talking about government services eh. Hindi pwedeng hindi political ‘yon. Hindi ‘yan insulated from politics, that’s government policy,” he said on Politiskoop.
“Kung ayaw ng gobyerno na mabatikos sila. Simple lang po ang puwede nila gawin. Tugunan nila ‘yung problema,” he added.
Malacañang has praised the emergence of community pantries and at the same time called on people to avoid politicizing it.
