President Rodrigo Duterte may announce the new quarantine classifications for May on Wednesday, MalacaƱang said.
On Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases will meet tomorrow to discuss the next quarantine status for Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Bagamat magkakaroon ng apela pa yan. Tingin ko ibibigay na ang rekomendasyon kay Presidente kasi maging a-uno na ng Mayo at ang Talk to the People niya ay Wednesday. So, puwede nang si Presidente ang mag-anunsyo,” Roque said during his televised briefing.
The Palace official had said next month’s quarantine classifications would be based on “science and hard data.”
The government’s Covid-19 task force would look into the “analytics of the healthcare system” of the NCR Plus and the country, and review the attack rate, hospital care utilization rate, and the economic health of the nation, he added.
Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Quirino, Abra and Santiago City in Isabela are under modified enhanced community quarantine until April 30, while the rest of the country are either under general community quarantine (GCQ) or modified GCQ.
