Go backs call to establish virology institute in PH to develop own vaccines

Senator Bong Go has expressed his support for the establishment of a virology institute that will eventually enable the country to develop and manufacture its own vaccines against diseases, such as Covid-19, in the future.

So mabuti na po na maging proactive tayo,” the former presidential aide said on Monday.

“Someday, magkaroon sana tayo ng sariling vaccine manufacturer sa bansa,” Go said.

He said he hopes for the proposed institute to eventually capacitate the country to develop and manufacture its own vaccines.

Halos nagmamakaawa pa tayo,” Go said.

The senator said he envisions the proposed institute to create strategic partnerships with other leading virology centers, institutes and scientists and conduct innovative research that will advance the country’s progress and development in the field of virology.
