Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) President Domingo Egon Cayosa said on Wednesday (April 21) community pantries should be supported and not made to undergo harassment.
“No law is violated when one feeds the hungry and helps the needy survive in this pandemic,” he said.
“Community pantries should be praised, not profiled; replicated, not red-tagged; supported, not stopped,” he pointed out.
Cayosa made the statement community pantries have been harassed by the police and even red-tagged.
The Maginhawa community pantry in Quezon City which sparked the movement was already forced to cease operations because of this.
