Labor Day treat: 200 to receive P10K from Alan Cayetano on May 1

Former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and his allies will be distributing P10,000 cash aid to nearly 200 beneficiaries from 13 cities and provinces in the country on Saturday, Labor Day.

The initiative dubbed ‘Sampung Libong Pag-Asa’ seeks to help selected poor families to purchase their basic needs and revive their sources of income amid the ongoing pandemic.

The beneficiaries were selected from the poorest and most vulnerable sectors in Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Camarines Sur, Caloocan City, Marikina City, Quezon City, Taguig City, Mandaluyong City, Pateros, Sta. Rosa City in Laguna, Antipolo City in Rizal, and Ormoc City in Leyte.

The initiative is organized by Cayetano, his wife Taguig City Rep. Ma. Laarni Cayetano, Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte, Jr., Batangas Rep. Raneo Abu, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez, Anakalusugan Rep. Michael Defensor, and Bulacan Rep. Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado.

From February to April 2021, the group distributed P10,000 each to some 38 beneficiaries from Caloocan City, Pasig City, Quezon City, and Cavite.

Cayetano’s group has been pushing for the 10K Ayuda bill to extend the government’s cash aid program for Filipino families.

The proposed measure has been pending deliberation at the House Committee on Economic Affairs.
