The quarantine classifications for May will be based on “science and hard data,” Malacañang said Sunday.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the government’s Covid-19 task force would look into the “analytics of the healthcare system” of the NCR Plus and the country.
The task force will review the attack rate and the hospital care utilization rate as well as the economic health of the nation, according to Roque.
“Our approach is whole-of-government and our overarching goal is to promote the total health of Filipinos, including people who have been marginalized due to loss of jobs and have experienced poverty as a result because of the imposition of strict lockdowns,” he added.
Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Quirino, Abra and Santiago City in Isabela are under MECQ until the end of April, while the rest of the country are either under general community quarantine (GCQ) or modified GCQ.
