Palace on Mike Defensor’s Ivermectin initiative: Wait for FDA action

By Prince Golez

Malacañang on Tuesday urged the public to wait for the recommendation of the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the application for the use of Ivermectin to treat Covid-19 patients.

Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the remark after Anakalusugan party-list Representative Mike Defensor said he would distribute Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug, to senior citizens and people with comorbidities in Quezon City.

Asked if Defensor will be held accountable for pushing the use of Ivermectin against Covid-19, the Palace official said: “I will not give legal advice on something I am not engaged professionally.”
