The government’s coronavirus (Covid-19) task force has authorized the application of a debit-credit payment method (DCPM) of the PhilHealth in all high risk and critical risk areas.
In its Circular 2021-0004, PhilHealth provides for the use of the DCPM to facilitate the settlement of accounts payable to healthcare facilities (HCFs) during the state of public health emergency brought due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that HCFs in high risk and critical risk areas are now eligible for DCPM.
“These other high risk and critical risk areas will also be prioritized in the Covid-19 vaccine allocation, human health resource deployment, and other relevant Covid-19 response, as applicable,” Roque said in a press statement.
The state health insurer initially applied DCPM only to areas identified by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases/National Task Force Against Covid-19, particularly in Metro Manila, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, and Rizal.
