Sex video clickbait: Office of Court Admin warns vs new Facebook phishing scam

The Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) on Wednesday (April 21) warned the public against malicious tagging on Facebook that is being perpetrated by cybercriminals.

“Please be informed of the new technique being employed by cybercriminals where Facebook accounts are randomly tagged on posts, often of lewd content, and encourage the victim/s to install malicious software (malware) by claiming that their video player is out of date,” read the OCA’s advisory posted on Facebook.

With this, the OCA advised the public to ignore such tags on Facebook.

“Should you encounter such an incident, please DO NOT CLICK AND DO NOT REPLY TO THE POST,” it said.

“The file you will be prompted to download is NOT an update but a malware,” the OCA explained.
