Task Force to discuss ECQ status of NCR, 4 areas on Saturday

By Prince Golez

The government’s coronavirus (Covid-19) task force will meet on Saturday to discuss the quarantine restrictions in Metro Manila and four nearby provinces after April 11, Malacañang said.

“The Inter-Agency Task Force shall meet on Saturday, April 10, 2021, to discuss the quarantine classification of the National Capital Region Plus,” Roque said in a statement Thursday.

The National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal have been placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) since March 29.

Last week, Malacañang raised the likelihood of shifting to a more relaxed modified ECQ once the national strategy on prevent, detect, isolate, treat and reintegrate has been proven effective.

As of April 8, the Philippines recorded a total of 828,366 Covid-19 cases, of which 646,968 have recovered and 14,119 have died.
