Former President Joseph Estrada is now free of COVID-19, his son, ex-senator Jinggoy Estrada, announced on Tuesday (April 13).
In a statement, Jinggoy said his father’s condition continues to improve and he will be transferred to a regular room soon.
“He is still on high flow oxygen support but at a much reduced rate. He has been allowed to resume soft diet,” the former senator said.
Jinggoy said his father is now in good spirits, mentally oriented and conversing normally.
Estrada was confined at a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on March 29. He was subsequently hooked to a ventilator when his pneumonia worsened.
The former President was taken off the machine on April 9 as his health improved.
