Senator Gwendolyn Garcia?
For Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, the Cebu governor could be a potential senatorial contender in next year’s elections.
Gatchalian believes that Garcia has the qualities to become a senator. He commended Garcia’s intellect and track record in public service, saying she should be one of the country’s elected senators.
“She has the experience, the grit and the intelligence to go up to the national scene. Governor Gwen should be in the halls of the Senate,” Gatchalian tweeted on May 30, 2021.
Garcia, a broadcast communications graduate from University of the Philippines Diliman, is the first woman governor of Cebu. It’s her fourth time to be elected in the gubernatorial post. She previously served as congresswoman of Cebu’s 3rd District.
