Palace Spokesman Harry Roque has accused the opposition of praying for the failure of the country’s Covid-19 vaccination program.
In his televised briefing Monday, Roque claimed that critics of President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration wanted the government to fail in its vaccine rollout so they would have a fighting chance in the 2022 elections.
“Ngayon po eh nagdadasal sila na ‘wag tayo maging matagumpay dito sa vaccine rollout para sila ang manalo. Wag naman pong ganun,” the Palace official said.
Roque also cited several reasons why administration candidates are in better position in next year’s polls.
“Kung magkakaroon ng advantage ang mga kandidato ng administrasyon ito ay dahil unang-una may pandemiya. Pangalawa, nakita nila na ginawa ng lahat ng gobyerno at pangatlo, it will really depend doon sa vaccine rollout,” according to him.
“Kinakailangan bilang Pilipino kapit-bisig po tayo. Ipagdasal natin na kahit sila ay oposisyon ay magtagumpay itong ating vaccine deployment,” he concluded.
