Task Force greenlights bubble training of Tokyo-, SEA Games-bound athletes

Filipino athletes bound for the Tokyo Olympics and the 2021 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi, Vietnam may commence with their bubble-type training, Malacañang announced Friday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, however, said the holding of bubble training will be subject to the applicable guidelines of the Philippine Sports Commission, Games and Amusement Board, and the Department of Health.

“Ang mga atleta na lalaban sa Tokyo Olympics at Southeast Asian Games ay pwede nang magsimula ng kanilang bubble-type training subject sa applicable guidelines ng Philippine Sports Commission, the Games and Amusement Board at Department of Health,” he added.

Meanwhile, Roque said the government’s Covid-19 task force approved the Technical Working Group’s recommendation to the Interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group to prioritize the vaccination of athletes, coaches, delegates and officials bound for the Tokyo Olympics and the Southeast Asian Games.

“Bring home the gold sa Tokyo,” he concluded.
