Box office sa balota? Sara-Gibo’s chemistry ‘like love team of John Lloyd-Sarah Geronimo’

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and former Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro reportedly clicked so well on their first meeting that a politiko compared them to the love team of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.

Former Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr., who accompanied Teodoro to the trip to Davao City Thursday (June 3), expressed optimism that the alliance between the former Defense chief and Duterte was already sealed in their meeting.

“Alam nung nag-uusap yung dalawa, first time nila mag-meet e. Tumitingin ako sa malayo, kinikilig ako e. Parang nakikita ko si JLC (John Lloyd Cruz) tsaka si Sarah Geronimo, parang matinee at leading lady na click na click eh,” he said in an interview on One News’ “Wag Po!”

During the visit, Teodoro received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, a gesture which Andaya said shows the former Defense chief’s advantage over politikos aspiring to be Duterte’s running mate.

“’Yung libreng bakuna, sinasabi lang nun, ‘partner dapat malakas ka dahil marami pa tayong dadaanan. Mangangampanya pa tayo. Ito babakunahan kita para safe ka,’” the former lawmaker said.

Duterte has yet to announce whether she has changed her mind about running for president amid strong clamor from supporters for her to succeed her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

Teodoro, meanwhile, ran for president in 2010 but lost to then-senator Benigno Aquino III.
