Deadma si Duterte! Pacquiao yet to get response on meeting request over PDP-Laban woes

President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to respond to Senator Manny Pacquiao’s request for a meeting to iron out kinks in the PDP-Laban as preparations for the 2022 elections intensify.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN’s Karen Davila, Pacquiao confirmed writing to Duterte with a request to meet and discuss the ruling party’s situation.

Duterte is PDP-Laban’s chairman while Pacquiao is the acting president.

“Nagsulat ako sa Pangulo na magkaroon kami ng meeting, as a chairman and President, para pag-usapan namin ‘yung plano ng partido. Pag-usapan namin lahat kung bagay ba, tama ba na baba siya, kung maganda ba o hindi … ako naman diretso ako magsalita eh. ‘Di naman ako paligoy-ligoy,” Pacquiao said in the report aired on TV Patrol.

“Walang magagawa dahil ako sumusunod lang sa by-laws ng partido dahil kailangan mag-meeting ang chairman and the President,” he added.

Last month, Duterte ordered Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi to hold a meeting of PDP-Laban members in Cebu despite Pacquiao’s objections.

Cusi is PDP-Laban’s vice chairman.

During the Cebu event, PDP-Laban members adopted a resolution urging Duterte to run for vice president and for him to choose his running mate.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, is believed to be gunning for the presidency.
