President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado as the new and 39th Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, Malacañang confirmed.
Bordado will replace Vice Adm. Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, who is scheduled to retire from the service today, June 8.
“Inappoint po ng ating presidente si Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado as flag officer ng Philippine Navy at pinalitan po niya si Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced in his virtual presser Tuesday.
“Again, congratulations kay Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado, the new Flag Officer (in Command) of the Philippine Navy,” said Roque.
Bordado is currently the vice commander of the PN.
