Harry Roque ‘pondering’ possible run for Senate in 2022

Palace Spokesman Harry Roque is still thinking about whether he would run for Senate in next year’s polls.

In a virtual presser Tuesday, Roque admitted that he was disappointed that he withdrew his candidacy for senator in 2019 because of health condition.

“Patuloy pa rin po pagdadasal ko. Dahil nung 2019, nagplano ako mag senador. Ako naman poy nagkasakit at grabe ang impact sa akin nung disappointment na hindi ako nakatakbo. So, I continue to ponder and pray,” the spokesperson said.

Despite his desire to run in 2022, Roque lamented that it takes big money to win a seat in Congress.

“Gustuhin man natin dahil merong tayong unfinished agenda nung tayo ay po ay naging congressman ng 17th Congress,” according to him.

“Ang tanong, yung pondo, kasi sa panahon ng COVID, napakahirap talaga mag-raise ng pondo, at kinakailangan napakalaking halaga para makatakbo at manalo sa Senado,” he added.
