President Rodrigo Duterte has maintained his hardline stance on criminality, illegal drugs, and corruption.
“Ako talaga ay hardliner, and ganoon talaga ako noon pa, hardliner ako,” Duterte said in an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in Davao City.
The Chief Executive said he could show his “violent side” to live up to his promise to protect the Filipino people.
“You destroy my country, I will have to tell you that you bring out the worst in me, the violent side of my persona. Eh naaawa ako sa bayan ko,” he added.
Duterte also expressed willingness to “mortgage [my] soul to the devil” and go to hell to rid the country of drugs.
“Evil to evil tayo. Do not ever, ever think that you are the only one who can do evil things kasi ako marunong rin akong bumaba sa impiyerno to really meet you where you want it to be,” according to him.
