President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to discuss the government’s policy on wearing of face shields during his public address tonight, his spokesman said.
“Mamayang gabi ay magkakaroon ng Talk to the People address kung saan ang polisiya sa face shield ang isa sa pag-uusapan,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Monday.
Roque clarified that face shields are not required outdoors because the government’s Covid-19 task force only appealed for the mandatory use of face shields indoors.
“Ang malinaw po, hindi na po kinakailangan mag face shield sa labas kasi hindi naman po yan inapela ng IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases),” according to him.
“Ang inapela lang ng IATF ay ang pagsuot ng face shield sa loob, kasama na po sa mga malls at iba pang commercial establishments at sa mga pampublikong transportasyon,” he added.
