Supreme Court (SC) Justice Marvic Leonen on Thursday (June 24) expressed sadness over the passing of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
“It is with profound sadness that I learned this morning of the passing of former President Benigno S. Aquino III,” read his statement.
Leonen, who was appointed as SC justice in 2010 by Aquino, declared that: “It was an honor to have served him.
“He will be missed,” he stated.
Leonen described Aquino as “a kind man, driven by passion to serve our people, diligent in his duties, and with an avid and consuming curiosity about new knowledge and the world in general.”
“I learned a lot from him,” the magistrate recounted.
“ I saw him carry his titel with dignity and integrity,” he added.
