Apply ’til Sept 14: JBC opens applications for deputy ombudsman for Visayas

The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has begun accepting applications for the post of deputy ombudsman for the Visayas.

SC Clerk of Court and JBC Ex-Officio Secretary Marife Lomibao-Cuevas advised those interested for the post to access the JBC’s Online Application Scheduler not later than Sept. 14.

After having filled the required information, she said that applicants will receive “a computer-generated letter of intent in their e-mail addresses.”

Cuevas said the applicants should submit their letter of intent and documentary requirements “on their selected date and time of appointment in the Online Application Scheduler.”

The person who will be picked for the post will replace Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Paul Elmer Clemente whose seven-year term will end on Nov. 6.

Clemente secured his economics and law degrees from the University of the Philippines.

He has been with the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) since 1995 where he started as an investigator.

Prior to becoming deputy ombudsman, Clemente had been executive officer of the Office of the Environmental Ombudsman and the OMB’s Special Panel of Life Style Check Investigators.
