CabSec prays for victims of military plane crash

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles on Monday prayed for those who perished and those injured after a Philippine Air Force plane crashed in Barangay Bangkal, Patikul, Sulu yesterday.

“I join the nation in praying for the souls of those who perished, and pray for the speedy and full recovery of those who were injured in this terrible crash,” Nograles said in a statement.

The military aircraft was carrying combat troops for deployment in Sulu as part of the government’s anti-terrorism campaign.

“As a Mindanawon, I am forever grateful for the willingness of our military to risk their lives to secure a just and lasting peace in the South,” the Palace official said.

“Kasama po ako sa patuloy na nananalangin na hindi na kailanman kakailanganin pang ipadala ang ating mga sundalo sa iba’t-ibang parte ng bansa at magbuwis ng buhay upang ipaglaban ang karapatan ng ating mga kababayan para sa kapayapaan, katahimikan, at kaunlaran,” he added.

According to the Department of National Defense, some 50 military personnel and civilians were killed in the crash.
