Vaccinations will continue despite the imposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting August 6, Malacañang said Friday.
“Yes of course,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said when asked if the government will continue its vaccination program against Covid-19 during ECQ.
Roque earlier announced that President Rodrigo Duterte has placed Metro Manila under ECQ from August 6 until August 20 amid the looming threats of the Delta Covid-19 variant.
Duterte likewise escalated the capital region’s quarantine status to general community quarantine subject to heightened and additional restrictions from July 30 to August 5.
On Thursday, the Department of Health reported that the Philippines currently has 216 cases of the more transmissible Delta variant.
