President Rodrigo Duterte has named Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Undersecretary Jacinto Paras as Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs, Malacañang announced Thursday.
“Kasama po natin ngayon ang bagong talagang Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, Secretary Jacinto Paras. Sec. Paras, congratulations po,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
As political adviser, Paras has the rank of Secretary and will be part of the Cabinet.
Paras served as mayor of Guihulngan in Negros Oriental from 1986 to 1988 and was elected as the 1st district representative of the province in 1998 and served there for three terms.
In 2018, Duterte appointed Jacinto as an undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment.
