Duterte to PDP-Laban: Focus on mission of uplifting lives

President Rodrigo Duterte urged members of the ruling PDP-Laban party to focus on their mission to uplift people’s lives as the country continues to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a speech during the National Assembly of PDP-Laban in Pampanga Saturday, Duterte asked the PDP-Laban not to be blinded by ambition and discourage members from using the party to advance their interests.

“Considering the magnitude of the responsibility that awaits the next batch of the elected officials in 2022 elections, we must remain focused on how to continue the reforms that we have instituted in the last five years,” the country’s chief executive said.

Duterte also encouraged his partymates not to lose sight of the founding principles upon which PDP-Laban was built on, and not to forget its end goal of improving welfare of the Filipino people.

“Always keep in mind that it is only through a united front that we can achieve this goal and lead this nation towards lasting progress,” he added.

Meanwhile, the President thanked his partymates for answering the call to convene the party’s National Assembly.

“Your presence here sends a clear and resounding message to everyone that our Party is as strong as ever, and that we are united in further consolidating our ranks until the end of my term and beyond,” he said.
