Local government units (LGUs) may ask fully vaccinated travelers to present a negative swab test as a requirement for entry into their jurisdictions, Malacañang announced Friday.
“LGUs retain the discretion in requiring RT-PCR testing or accepting duly issued Covid-19 vaccination cards for allowed interzonal travel,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
Roque, however, reiterated that vaccination cards are “sufficient” alternatives to any testing requirement.
“Any individual who shall present forged and / or falsified vaccination cards shall be dealt with in accordance with the law,” he added.
Earlier, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases issued Resolution No. 124-B allowing domestic travel for all fully-vaccinated individuals as long as they could present their vaccination card or certificates of quarantine completion showing their vaccination status.
