Ma-KO kaya ni Pacquiao? Duterte dared to probe officials linked to corruption

Bayan Muna Rep. Ferdinand Gaite expressed hope that Sen. Manny Pacquiao “can deliver a knockout punch” against corruption.

Gaite said that President Rodrigo Duterte should allow the investigation since Pacquiao accepted his challenge to prove the allegation of corruption.

“We would also like to ask the President, ngayong sinimulan na ni Sen. Pacquiao ang pagtugon sa kanyang hamon, itutulak rin ba niya ang imbestigasyon sa kanyang mga tao? Susuportahan ba niya itong pagsisiwalat sa katiwalian o tututok pa rin siya sa pagbira kay Sen. Pacquiao dahil nakikita niya ito bilang isa sa posibleng kalaban ng kanyang manok sa eleksyon?” Gaite asked.

Gaite said he supports Pacquiao’s fight against corruption and lauded him for not stepping back on Duterte’s challenge to prove that he is not a liar.

“Mukhang handang-handa naman si Sen. Pacquiao na harapin ang hamon ng Pangulo,” Gaite added.

Duterte called out on Pacquiao regarding his allegation that corruption in the present administration is three times worse that the previous administration.

The President threatened to campaign against Pacquiao if the senator fails to prove his allegation.

Pacquiao said that in October 2020, it was the President who told the public that the corruption was getting worse.

“In his own words, sinabi niya na ‘I will concentrate the last remaining years of my term fighting corruption kasi hanggang ngayon hindi humihina, lumalakas pa lalo.’ Mr. President, I feel the same way,” said Pacquiao.
