Malacañang expressed its gratitude to the Filipino people after the results of the Pulse Asia survey showed that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and President Rodrigo Duterte emerged as top picks for the 2022 presidential and vice presidential race, respectively.
The survey findings reflect the people’s trust and confidence in Duterte and his family, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an interview Wednesday.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa sambayanang Pilipino kasi kahit ano ang ipula nila kay Presidente Duterte patuloy pa ring pinagkakatiwalaan ang Pangulo at ang kanyang pamilya na si Mayor Sara,” said Roque.
“Patunay po yan na wa epek yung mga ingay ng ginagawa ng mga kritiko ni Presidente,” he added.
In its June 7 to 16 survey, Pulse Asia reported that 28 percent of 2,400 respondents would vote for Sara as president in next year’s polls. Eighteen percent, on one hand, preferred Duterte to run for vice president.
Other probable frontrunners in the upcoming presidential elections included Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, Senator Grace Poe, and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Moreno, Marcos, Pacquiao, and Senator Tito Sotto III were also among the preferred vice presidential candidates.
