By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has extended the travel restrictions to India and nine other countries for another two weeks, Malacañang announced Friday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to extend the travel ban on travelers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand until August 15.

“Inaprubahan din po ng IATF at ng presidente ang rekomendasyon ng inyong IATF na i-extend ang travel restrictions sa sampung bansa simula August 1 hanggang August 15 ngayong taon. Kasama rito po ang India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Oman, United Arab Emirates, indonesia, Malaysia at Thailand,” said Roque.

The spokesperson said the government’s Covid-19 supports the draft Joint Administrative Order (JAO) on the Revised Standard Guidelines on the Strict Observance of Health Protocols in the Conduct of Licensure Examinations during Public Health Emergency and/or Pandemic.

The Department of Health, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Philippine National Police drafted the JAO that will govern all PRC licensure examinations for the duration of the public health emergency, he added.
