Roque dares Pacquiao to show proof of corruption claims: ‘It’s a free country’

By Prince Golez

Malacañang is not threatened by Senator Manny Pacquiao’s promise to reveal video and audio recordings to prove his recent government corruption claims.

“Pabayaan po natin si Senator Pacquiao kung ano ang gusto niyang isiwalat. It’s a free country,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.

Last week, Pacquiao vowed to show audio and video proof that corruption exists under the Duterte administration after Roque likened his allegations to a “watusi.”

The boxer-turned politician has filed a resolution seeking a Senate probe into the alleged missing P10.4 billion fund that the Department of Social Welfare and Development failed to distribute to the poor.

He likewise tagged the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Energy and the Department of Health as corrupt.
