ASAP! Grant licenses to oxygen manufacturers, Duterte to FDA

President Rodrigo Duterte asked the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines (FDA) to immediately grant licenses to oxygen producing companies.

In his Talk to the Nation address Monday evening, Duterte said he may talk to Congress to give medical oxygen manufacturers tax incentives.

“Kailangan talaga natin ng maraming oxygen. If it goes out of control we would need all the oxygens that they can produce para sa mga tao. The first wave na dumaan sa atin, nagkakulang-kulang tayo sa oxygen,” the Chief Executive said.

“Kaya itong gumagawa ngayon, bigyan ninyo ng lisensya ‘pag tama lang, if everything is in order, bigyan ninyo kaagad.

“Yung manufacturers, maybe, I will talk to Congress, bigyan kayo ng tax relief diyan sa ginagwa ninyo for you are producing a very vital component in the fight against Covid-19 ad the variant delta,” he also said.

Some hospitals in the Philippines are running short of oxygen supplies because of a surge in new Covid-19 cases.
