BuCor: Nearly 3K female inmates get COVID-19 jab

Almost 3,000 female inmates of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

“A total of 2,688 PDL from various camps of the Correctional Institution for Women received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on August 18 and 19, 2021,” the BuCor said in a statement.

The agency noted that this comprise the second batch of vaccinees.

“The first batch 200 PDL received their first dose on August 3, 2021,” it said.

The BuCor added that also vaccinated on Aug. 18 and 19 were 11 personnel of the CIW.

While the second and third batches totaling 2,688 PDL, as well as 11 employees, had theirs on August 18 and 19, 2021.
