De Lima blames Duterte for causing ‘mindless chaos’ in vax sites after threatening the unvaccinated

There is supposedly no one else to blame for the chaos in some Manila vaccination sites but President Duterte.

Senator Leila de Lima blamed Duterte for issuing the arrest order against the unvaccinated that caused confusion and panic among the people.

She said Duterte should “shape up or shut up” after causing the disinformation about the vaccination.

“It’s way past the second year of the pandemic, and they still cannot get their act together. The President, in fact, leads the disinformation drive of his own government when he proclaimed that he would order the arrest of those who are not yet vaccinated, thus instigating the chaos in vaccination sites all throughout the Metro,” she said.

“Wala na ngang naitutulong, gumawa pa ng gulo,” she said.

Duterte, in a public address last July 28, directed the police and barangay officials to prevent those who refuse to be vaccinated from leaving their houses.

“Ang mga barangay captain na lang, ‘pag ayaw nila magpabakuna ‘wag silang palabasin ng bahay,” Duterte said. “Pag lumabas kayo ng bahay, sabihin ko sa mga pulis, ibalik ka doon sa bahay mo.

After the President’s remarks, De Lima said Duterte’s “minions” made excuses saying he was only exasperated.

“In a crisis where there is no room for equivocal messaging, this government makes it a point to do just the opposite, not only sending mixed signals but worse, spreading disinformation,” De Lima said.

“Duterte causes panic among the unvaccinated populace, triggering chaos all over the Metro. These mouthpieces say he was just exasperated,” she said.
