Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is not backing down from his plan to run after President Duterte and his minions alleged involved in corruption during the pandemic.
The former lawmaker is dismayed with the alleged irregularities implicating Duterte and “his Davao group” while the country fights the coronavirus outbreak.
He made the comment after a Senate hearing tackled the questionable transactions in the Department of Health, including the purchase of certain medical supplies. He said this is the reason Duterte castigated the Commission on Audit (COA) over flagging deficiencies in some government agencies.
“It is very clear from the Senate’s hearing yesterday that duterte and his Davao group took advantage of the pandemic to earn billions through high-level corruption,” he said.
“Kaya siya galit sa COA. Kaya kulungan ang diretso ng mga ‘to kapag natalo sila sa 2022,” he added.
Trillanes is a known vocal critic of Duterte and his administration. He wanted Duterte and allies liable for the alleged corruption and drug-related killings during their term.
