Gov’t proposes P240 billion to fund pandemic response in 2022

The national government is proposing a 2022 budget of P240,747,386,000 for the country’s Covid-19 pandemic response, Malacañang said.

In a televised briefing Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said P93.782 billion of which will be set aside for the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH budget shall be allocated as follows:

-Health Facilities Enhancement Program (P19.478 billion)

-Prevention and Control and Communicable Disease (P819 million)

-Health Facility Policy and Plan Development (P105 million)

-Assistance to Indigent Patients (P16.997 billion)

-Procurement and Supply Chain Management Service (P463 million)

-Health Information Technology (P368 million)

-Covid-19 Response Laboratory Commodities (P5.091 billion)

-Covid-19 HRH Emergency Hiring (P3.800 billion)

-Asian Development Bank Loan: Health System Enhancement to Address and Limit (P102 million)

-World Bank Loan: Philippines Covid-19 Response Project 2 (P1.187 billion)

-Procurement of Covid-19 Vaccine Booster Shots (P45.367 billion)

Here are other agencies that will receive funds for Covid-19 response efforts:

-Department of Education (P99.196 billion)

-Department of Trade and Industry (P1.203 billion)

-Department of Science and Technology (P1.278 billion)

-Department of Social Welfare and Development (P11.517 billion)

-Department of Labor and Employment (P33.629 billion)

-University of the Philippines System (P140 million)

“Ito po ay preliminary. Ito po yung nakasaad sa National Expenditure Program, pero ito po ay pwedeng baguhin ng Kongreso. Pwedeng dagdagan, pwede bawasan,” said Roque.
