The government’s anti-communist task force is the answer to the decades-long insurgency problem in the Philippines, according to Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the comment after Vice President Leni Robredo called for the suspension of the funding for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Robredo proposed that funds allocated to NTF-ELCAC should be used to help low-income households affected by the enhanced community quarantine.
In areas under ECQ, the government is giving out a one-time P1,000 cash aid to each resident or P4,000 per family.
Robredo earlier said the financial assistance was not enough.
