Instead of getting paid for the risk of doing contract tracing in their respective localities, some barangay health workers (BHWs) have not yet received any allowance, and the pay intended for doing the job goes to someone else, a party-list representative bared on Tuesday.
BHW Party-list Rep. Angelica Natasha Co said in an interview on Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan, that there were cases wherein the designated contact tracers get the benefits in some areas after delegating their task to unpaid BHWs.
Co also mentioned that there are some barangay health workers who has yet to receive their special risk allowance promised to them under the Bayanihan to Heal as One (Bayanihan 1), or received amounts significantly smaller than what was standard.
Rep. Co stated that they are currently working to prevent the mistakes and problems encountered during Bayanihan 1 from repeating during Bayanihan 2.
