BHW Partylist Rep. Angelica Natasha Co said that the help of the national government is greatly needed to support barangay health workers (BHWs).
In an interview on Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan, Co revealed that they currently could not, on their own, help the BHWs as they can only provide assistance to only a handful of individuals.
She added that the BHWs deployed to vaccination sites even have no food allowance. Co appealed to the Department of Health (DOH) and the national government to at least provide food for the volunteers.
She stated that the hazard allowance she is asking for, for the BHWs is under the Bayanihan 1 and 2 wherein a lot have already received theirs but there are a few who were not compensated.
