Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo is reportedly set on running for senator—but the ticket he’ll join remains anyone’s guess.
Politiko learned Saturday (Sept. 18) that Tulfo will be a part of the senatorial slate formed by Senators Panfilo Lacson and Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
This information contradicts the post made by social media personality Franco Mabanta earlier this week about Tulfo running for senator under Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Other politikos confirmed to be running for senator under the Lacson-Sotto ticket are: Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero, Antique Rep. Loren Legarda, former senators JV Ejercito at Gringo Honasan, Sen. Richard Gordon, Sen. Migz Zubiri, Sen. Joel Villanueva, former Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Commission on Elections commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal.
Pacquiao and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian are also said to be welcome to join the Lacson-Sotto senatorial slate if they don’t push through with their plans to run for president and vice president, respectively.
A handful of Tulfo’s relatives will be joining politics in 2022. His son, Ralph, will be running for congressman in Quezon City’s second district while his brother, Erwin, will be the first nominee of ACT-CIS party-list.
Tulfo’s wife, Jocelyn, is already one of ACT-CIS party-list’s three representatives in the 18th Congress.
