Vice President Leni Robredo is still undecided about her political plans and isn’t endorsing anyone just yet for the 2022 elections, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said Tuesday (Sept. 7).

Pangilinan, the Liberal Party’s president, said Robredo is just leading efforts to reach out to other politikos to unite the opposition.
“Wala pang pasya si VP Leni ukol sa pagtakbo, at lalong wala siyang ibang iniendorso. Malinaw sa mga usapan namin, pati na sa mga pampubliko niyang pahayag, na nakikita at isinasapuso niya ang mahalagang tungkulin niyang kailangang gampanan bilang pinuno ng oposisyon,” he said.
Pangilinan made the statement a day after Robredo said in a television interview that she’s open to backing the possible tandem of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
“Yes, if that will be the result of discussions. If that will be the result of the discussions of the broadest coalition that we can form,” the Vice President said Monday (Sept. 6).
Moreno has yet to disclose his political plans while Pacquiao already ruled out a vice presidential run.
Pangilinan expressed confidence that Robredo will put the country’s welfare above her own in making her decision on which post to run for in the upcoming polls.
“I, along with the rest of the party leadership, have full trust IN VP Leni’s leadership and judgment,” he said.
